hello, hello. Back for the time being.
A quick update of my life. Work has been as usual, stressful but manageable and life, in general, pretty dead heh.
On a happier note, I will be going home (*screeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaam in excitement*) this Sunday. Yay yay yay!
Been planning on this short trip home for a while now. Time to be reunited with my family and close friends and of course, the foood!!!
Well, I can't be going home empty handed right? Here's a picture list of what I'm bringing back... You might be shocked!
Oh yeah. Bought myself a very pretty pink camera. The prettiest camera I've seen thus far. Bought it on impulse though. My old faithful is still working fine but a camera in this hue of pink is just to hard to resist. Don't believe me? See for yourself.
Allow me to present to you...
A Pumpkin Patch dress and stockings + Esprit dress for my niece, Jesslyn
And of course, coming from me, she must be dressed in pinkPolo shirts and a Hugo Boss working shirt for father and siblingsScented hearts and dessert-themed glosses for close friends and cuzziesBlouse for Ah Sou and skirt for mom. Both from Jacqui-EPillow embroided with a fairy and a quilted blanket to make my stay in the plane a comfortable one
Oklah, I admit. Kinda sia sueh wanna bring so seh kia stuffs esp the blanket which is meant for babies lol. But I couldnt find a nicer one =(
From Esprit. Stuffs I eventually returned in exchange for a huge, leather bag (Sorry, no photo taken)My pink baby and KS' new camera in replacement of his demised IXUS =PTiTi's iPoD Touch. He better like it.And a rip off.
I remember seeing it being sold for only $1.85 last wk but when I bought it it was $2.75!! A total rip-off for so little.
Regardless, it reminds me of a pack of nice tissue papers and it even has cute prints at the side of the box. =D swoonnn
To top it off,
chocolates!!!
Mountains and mountains of them..
Okla. I exaggerated. Not all of them are mine =P
That's about it. Now I have to try and fit all of that in my luggage.
Till then, stay safe and happy.

Empty space in my page
If there's one thing I hate about my xanga, its the excessive empty spaces at the sides of the page.
Instead of having my profile, chatterbox and list of blogrings squashed with my entries (all within the confinement of the same border, I want them just outside of the border.
With that my entries will have more room and reading will be easier.
I'm not sure if it's as simple as changing the settings to achieve the above mentioned or if it's got to do with the theme. I'm guessing the latter.
So now I'm experimenting with different types of themes and hopefully my problem will get fixed soon.
Do lemme know if you know to fix it.
Will blog abt Christmas Pageant and the grumpy mother I encountered:P today soon.

Cheer up
The sky today was gloomy. And my driving lesson didn't go very well either. The driving instructor was a lil verbally abusive, catergorising my driving as shocking lol.
To add salt to the wound, knowing that my lessons cld very well end up costing me over a thousand doesnt help ease my stress.
Oh well. No point brooding in misery. Wadever happens happens right? Cliche but true.
-
Flat broke
I knew gettin a license here wld be costly but little did I know it wld be that costly (No thanks to my poor driving skills). I'm being charged AUD50/hr which is reasonable or even cheap but bcus I need A LOT of lessons its gonna work out to be expensive. Each lesson costs me at least a hundred. For one bloody lesson.
I'm devastated. Even going shopping doesnt interest me anymore. Oh no. That's tragic.
I was so confident I wld be gettin a new laptop but now I'm not so sure anymore...

So near yet so far
I was playing the Marvin Spectrum game (yes, in the office during working hrs
) when suddenly sth shifted my attention.
At the top of the page was the strategically placed Dell ad - screaming for attention and enticing me to click on it which of course I did eventually.
The moment I saw the laptop in flamingo pink, I was convinced that it was time for me to get a new laptop.
Called up my comp whiz friend and confided in him. We finally came to a conclusion on which laptop to buy.
Inspiron 1520SPECSProcessorIntel® Centrino® Duo Processor Technology - Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7250 (2GHz/ 800 FSB/ 2MB Cache)Memory3GB Dual-channel 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard DriveGraphic CardNVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT with 256MB GDDR2 dedicated graphic memoryDELL SPECIAL OFFERS
Free Mini USB 2GB Memory Keyand
The tag? AUD 1849 incl. delivery
And to add to that, the offer ends today. So if I want the freebies (hehe, ya I'm cheap la *roll eyes), I must grab it today!
Angel on my right shoulder: But I don't need a laptop. I already hv a laptop and it's still working fine and.. (reason with self)
Devil on the left: It's PINK. You've been wanting a pink laptop for the longest time right? This is your golden chance. Plus, u get freebies!! (2G thumbdrive and the speakers featured below) It can't get better than this. (True true..)Free speakers
But there is one slight problem. I don't like the gifts. Other packages offer a Belkin Messenger bag and a colour kit (cover). Which means I actually have to pay (AUD 99) for the pink cover. WHAT!? No way.
The Belkin bag i was talking abt.
Now you see why I wanted it so bad..it has a pink strap!! and its also quite good lookin.
I think you're gettin slightly annoyed with my wad-also-wan pink behaviour
Frantically gave Dell a call with hopes that I cld swap the speakers and thumbdrive for a messenger and pink cover.
Much to my disappointed, the salesperson sounded quite adamant and insisted that it was beyond his power (or his manager's) to get the gifts swaped.
And that was enough to stop me from getting it.
If I could hv the Belkin bag or the pink cover without hving to pay more, I wld definitely hv bought it without much hesitation and wld be happily blogging abt it now. Too bad.
Wait a min. I take that back. It's not that bad. I actually feel quite pleased with myself for not splurging on sth I don't need.
Anyway, I'm sure Dell will come up with attractive offers soon. And when the time is right, I will get one.
As for now, I'm off to do a bit of reading for my theory test (driving) tmr. Wish me luck.

Dead as a herring
Nothing interesting to blog abt but thought I shd anyway since it's been awhile I last blogged.
I must however rant about the freak weather. 23 deg one day and soared to a flaming 35 deg the next. I'm definitely not enjoying this. Kinda make me cranky and grumpy.
Came across these cute muffins cupcakes (dun ask me why I used the word muffins. I hvent a clue) when I was browsing through a shop selling solely party stuffs. They also sell absolutely adorable Hello Kitty party kits which I didn't take photos of as shown below.
Edited:There were more HK stuffs to this but daren't take more photos cus I cldn't disable the clicking sound my nokia E65 made everytime I snapped a photo. Anyone with the same model wld you enlighten me
How all muffins cupcakes should look like

More delicious lookin candy coloured muffins cupcakesBeen playing around with different variety of games. Some of them being Marvin Spectrum (google for it if you want to test your reflexes), some bridge game which I got a few of my colleagues addicted (dl it from bbbuilder - again, go google it) and the game I'm best in...the rabbit game (not its real name).
I challenge anyone who's reading this to beat my score of 50 90 million. The photo below is not the updated score obviously. But use that as a yardstick if you may.
If it helps, I wasn't good at it initially. But practice makes perfect and my perseverance paid off afterall.
outdated - my current personal best is 50 90 million. I know you heard me the 1st time but will you lemme show off a bit? *annoyedLet me brag a bit la. I'm seldom good in games okay...

P/S And oh btw, if u read my previous blog, I won the pink earphones plus a crappy cd
. The satisfaction of getting freebies ahhhhhhh. Here I go again. Getting all smug.
Will blog again when I feel like it. Life has been boring. Bleh.
P/P/S Anyone knows how I can get xanga credit? I wan those xanga minis they look so cuteee. I know I can purchase them but am too skinflint to fork out $$.
On second thoughts, it wldnt kill me if i cant hv them
...but but it wld be better if I can

i <3 shoes!!
Bought new shoes yesterday together with a pair of jeans and a shirt dress. No pics for the jeans or shirt dress cause I'm just too lazy to snap a pic of every item I buy.
Yet another pair of open toe shoes
This pair is surprisingly more comfy than my other open toe shoesWork hasn't been as interesting as I've hoped but has shown improvement during recent days. Gaining trust in order to undertake more important tasks can be rather difficult. They all say it takes time but I don't want to get used to being insignificant.
My bestfriend
Having a mug of hot choc or coffee always help in making a boring day at work more bearablePlanning to go jogging at the botanical garden opposite my apartment later in the afternoon. Hopefully, little activities like this will give my boring life a lift. Might even consider playing computer games. I could get used to shopping if I needn't have to use money to get that 'high' lol.

Royal Adelaide Show
Haven't been blogging lately mainly because work robs most of my time and I just don't feel like doing anything else except relax everytime I reach home. Plus, I don't quite see the point of blogging.
Feeling extra lazy these days. Been eating frozen meals. Quick, easy, nicee =D
Went to Royal Adelaide Show though. It was the last day and since I haven't been to any, I thought I ought to give it a go. It was better than expected.
There was a sea of faces/people in every direction you look. Saw quite a few familiar faces as I brave the horde of patrons. It was undoubtedly the biggest event in Adelaide.
Miss Log with Ferris wheel
Still too early - the crowd was only starting to build upThey had a massive variety of crazy thrill rides of which I cringed with every jolted movement of those mad, mad mechanisms. Not surprisingly, I didn't ride on any. (Even riding in a Ferris wheel scares the hell outta me. Go figure.)
Apart from the rides, there was also a section dedicated entirely to horticulture. To show my support, I bought a pear -_-" which I gobbled up instantly as well as an advocado filled with guacamole dipped with tortilla chips. It was yummmyy.
Slingshot
See that blurry spherical thingy right at the top. It catapulted many feet through the air and then somersaulted a few times before it dove back.
Guacamole without the mandatory chipsThey also had the oh-so-famous Adelaide's poffertjes which I have not heard of in the past. Apparently, it's a Danish sweet that resemble mini pancakes and are served with cream and melted butter, a slice of lemon and a generous sprinkling of caster sugar on top.
PoffertjesI also tried dunno what hotdog on a stick that was coated with batter and then dip fried but it was nothing to shout abt.
Before I stray too far from horticulture (which I'm sure I already have cus the topic seemed to be on food), they had a smorgasbord of very healthy flowers of vivid and varied colours to feast your eyes on.
During the visit to the Adelaide show, one must visit the much-lauded cake display. No details necessary. I'm sure the photos are self-explanatory.

What else haven't I covered? Oh yes. There were these Holden/Subaru cars showing their stuffs by doing drifts and a few perfect circles and making dirts fly which I was impressed but not overly. More impressive were the bikes doing backflips and all sorts of other stunts.
This was followed by a display of fireworks. The fireworks were setting off in accordance with the beat of the music! (i.e. high tone then the fireworks shot further and so on) It lasted pretty long too.
And lastly, what's the point of going to the Adelaide show and going home without a showbag, right? So, I succumbed to the go-Adelaide show-must-buy-many showbags-if-not-one trend and bought a Girlfriend showbag. It costs me 15 bucks. Was lingering around hoping they wld drop they price but to no avail. Too bad.
GF ShowbagAs an ending, here's a sand sculpture of Centennial Hall where university students used to take their examinations and where Beatles held a concert in 1964. Sadly, it was closed after Royal show last year because it was declared unsafe.
While I was marketing in Chinatown yesterday, sth caught my attention. Underneath this big bright yellow umbrella, sat a stall selling...Krispy Kreme!! It's only a temporary stall, much to my despair, and they're selling to raise fund. But I dunno what fund laa because they din say.
I bought it because I wanted to do a good deed ahahaha. Only bought half a dozen because I was still scarred by the not-so-pleasant experience with this much overrated doughnuts in Brisbane. Threw away most of the doughnuts. Waste my money only.
Anyway, my verdict. I microwaved it for 20 secs and it turned out soft.
I thought to myself,"Oh damn. It has turned soggy."
But boy was I wrong.
It was overall soft but still maintained this light crisp on the outside (almost like a deep fried effect) and was nice and chewy.
In short, it was oooooooooooh so good.

Beautiful sky
The amazing blend of contrasting colours is just spectacular. One day it's fiery red with deep blue. The next time I realised, it was a complete different mixture of pastel colours.
The colours were definitely much more vivid than captured. The contrast of the red and blue was just wowLately, I've been dabbling a lot with make-up and I must say it's costing me a fortune. There are so many things in my wishlist. Knowing that I'm spending "my own money" only further supports my current fetish. As a result, I bought two eyeliner pencils in the same week. Internet shopping is just so convenient

I wannn
Not like I have an iPod nano but look at the metallic hot pink earphones!! They are to die for.
I scoured Adelaide for them but could only find the older white version which is a far cry from these hotties.
-
I finally bought it!!
Many weeks ago, I wanted to buy this awfully pretty pair of heels. It's the type of heels I've been longing for for so long. Plus, the price was reasonable and like I already said, they were awfully pretty.
But the problem was, in that week and the week before, I had already bought a grand total of 2 shoes!! And I haven't even started working yet! Mind you, it is quite unlike me to be this spendthrift. I usually spend my money rather erm, wisely. (Okla. I'm kiam la. Dammit! *roll eyes*)
So I told myself, I WILL get those shoes, on the condition that I get that job I wanted.
And I got the job.
But it was followed by my parents coming to Adelaide and graduation and PR application and moving to a new place and what not.
Each day I hesitated I worry that the shoes I wanted so badly would be all sold off...
So when I could finally find time off to buy my long awaited shoes, horror of horrors, they weren't available in my size!!! (albeit much to my expectation)
HOW CAN!!! I waited day and night. Think about it 24-7. Schemed every possible way to reunite with it and now you're telling me they're not available in my size!!
Well, if you haven't already know, I can be as stubborn as a mule. Even after all the careful deliberating and despite being clearly aware that it slips with every step I take; is extremely uncomfortable; and that I might out of frustration, stash it somewhere to collect dust, I still chose to buy the ill-fitting shoes.
I know, I'm hopeless.
A size 6 when I'm really just a size 5

The much mentioned lacy heelsThey looked really good when I wore them especially with my scarlet painted toenails. Moreover, everyone around me were so supportive, zeroing on how stunning they looked (on me) so I believed them :D
